For Wealthsimple investors

The portfolio tracker
Wealthsimple won't build you.

Wealthsimple is a great place to trade. It's not built to tell you whether you're actually beating the market. Alphenzi adds weekly alpha vs SPY, real-time drawdown monitoring, and an AI portfolio copilot — without touching your Wealthsimple account.

How to use Alphenzi with your Wealthsimple portfolio.

No API access. No brokerage connection. Alphenzi never sees your Wealthsimple credentials — it only sees what you give it.

01

Add your holdings

Enter your Wealthsimple positions manually in Alphenzi's Holdings page — ticker, share count, purchase price, and currency. For TSX stocks, add the .TO or .V suffix. Takes about two minutes for a typical portfolio.

02

Import weekly performance data

Upload an Excel file of your weekly portfolio values — total value and net deposits by week. Alphenzi uses this to compute alpha vs SPY, drawdown, Sharpe ratio, and volatility going back as far as your history runs. Download the template from the setup guide to see the exact column format.

03

Run your analytics

Once holdings and weekly data are in, your dashboard populates automatically. Hit Start AI Pipeline to unlock the AI copilot, buy/trim/hold signals, and portfolio-mapped news. Refresh every Monday morning for your weekly alpha read.

Key features

Built for Canadian investors with cross-border portfolios.

Wealthsimple users often hold a mix of TSX and NYSE positions. Alphenzi handles both natively.

Alpha vs SPY — weekly & rolling

Know every week whether your Wealthsimple portfolio beat the S&P 500 or lagged it. See rolling 4-week alpha, cumulative alpha, and week-by-week attribution in a single chart.

CAD/USD dual currency

Hold TSX-listed ETFs and US equities side by side. Alphenzi applies live CAD/USD FX conversion to unify your portfolio into a single currency view — a feature Wealthsimple only partially supports.

Drawdown monitoring

Track your portfolio's live drawdown from its all-time peak and compare it to your own defensive and hard-stop thresholds. The dashboard classifies your current risk regime so you always know where you stand.

AI portfolio copilot

An AI that knows your specific Wealthsimple holdings, risk thresholds, and recent performance — not a generic chatbot. Get buy/trim/hold signals grounded in your actual data, not templated advice.

News mapped to your holdings

Every earnings release, analyst move, and macro event is scored against your exact Wealthsimple positions. See which holdings are affected before the market moves — with AI-generated summaries.

Privacy-first — no brokerage access

Alphenzi never connects to Wealthsimple. Your account credentials, account numbers, and real-time balances are never seen. You control exactly what data enters Alphenzi and when.

FAQ

Common questions from Wealthsimple investors.

Does Alphenzi connect directly to Wealthsimple?
No. Alphenzi never connects to your brokerage. You export your positions from Wealthsimple as a CSV or enter holdings manually. Your account credentials, account numbers, and real-time balances are never seen or stored by Alphenzi.
How do I export my portfolio from Wealthsimple?
In the Wealthsimple app or web platform, navigate to Account → Documents to find account statements, or use the Activity export for transaction history. You can also simply enter your current holdings manually in Alphenzi's Holdings page — ticker, share count, and purchase price is all that's needed. See the setup guide for the exact steps.
Does Alphenzi support Canadian stocks and TSX ETFs?
Yes. Alphenzi supports any ticker available on Yahoo Finance, including TSX-listed stocks and ETFs with .TO and .V suffixes. CAD/USD conversion is handled automatically using live FX rates, so you can hold cross-border positions and view your total portfolio in either currency.
Does it work with TFSA and RRSP accounts?
Yes. Alphenzi is account-type agnostic — you manage your holdings list regardless of whether positions are held in a TFSA, RRSP, FHSA, or non-registered account. Alphenzi tracks performance, not account structure.
What is the difference between Wealthsimple's performance view and alpha?
Wealthsimple shows your dollar and percentage returns. Alphenzi computes alpha: the difference between your portfolio's return and what SPY (S&P 500) returned in the same period. A positive alpha means you outperformed the market; negative means you lagged it. That distinction is what separates active skill from passive market exposure. Learn more on the Alpha vs SPY page.
